All Saints' Anglican Academy (ASAA)
All Saints’ Anglican Academy was launched in September 2006, as an extension of the All Saints’ Cathedral’s ministry and contribution to our community in the area of Christian Education. This ministry has proven to be effective in providing quality education as well as inculcating godly values into the students, making an impact in their lives for the Lord. The focus of this education is the acquisition of Godly wisdom and training in godly character, in preparation for adult life as part of a family, in a work place, and the wider society.
ASAA has a structured but unique school program. We use an English-medium, Bible-based curriculum that caters for students from kindergarten to grade 12 level. BM language classes are also taught as an integral part of the school program. Students are provided with an individualised learning program that emphasises on character-building and the Word of God, training the children to think well, act responsibly and live wisely. Although we are working towards integrating this curriculum to fit in with the requirements as set by the Ministry of Education, currently we are operating mainly on the ACE (Accelerated Christian Education, also known as School of Tomorrow©) program under the church’s Christian Education ministry.
The ACE program has 2 pathways for graduation at grade 12 in preparation for tertiary education:
(a)The ICCE (International Certificate of Christian Education) which is now recognized and certified by UK NARIC as a pre- tertiary qualification comparable to the CIE O-levels and A-levels. The General and Advanced certificates have also been endorsed by the MQA since March 2013, as having equivalency to the SPM and STPM qualifications respectively, for entry into Malaysian tertiary institutions.
(b) A US-accredited high school diploma on completion of grade 12, and sit for the SATs as a tertiary entrance qualification. Along with the academic program are other activities through the year which provide students with opportunities to improve and showcase their natural and learned abilities and talents, like in student conventions, extra-curricular activities and field trips. Student conventions also enable our students to meet and interact with students on the same program from other parts of the country and in the region.
The Academy is situated on the 4th, 5th & 6th & 7th floor of Wisma Anglican, behind All Saints’ Cathedral, and currently, in 2017, consists of 191 students, 17 full-time teaching/supervisory staff, 4 part-time teacher, and 3 administrative staff. Our present facilities include 7 learning centres able to accommodate about 30 students each, 3 teaching classrooms, a library, a music room, an assembly hall, a science & project room, rooftop terrace, staff room and 3 offices. We also have the use of the field and basketball court in the church compound for our PE and sports activities.
Our daily proclamation:
God’s Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. I will hide His Words in my heart that I might not sin against God.
Through Christian Education, to develop each student to their highest potential academically, to help build godly character in the students and prepare them to live life with wisdom, based on the principles and teachings from the Word of God.
